Caring for Eternity Leather Collars, Cuffs, and Accessories

Proper care is essential for the life of your Eternity leather item. Just like our own skin, leather is porous and considered a "living material." It requires a bit of cleaning and care to ensure it retains its appearance and longevity.

Cleaning

For routine cleanings, we recommend using the following steps after use:

  • Dip a clean, damp micro-fiber washcloth in warm water with a few drops of mild dish soap.
  • Wipe the washcloth across your leather item.
  • Then, wipe it again with a damp soap-free micro-fiber cloth to rinse and dry completely when done.

Do not submerge your leather item in water. Prolonged wet environments can jeopardize the color and durability, and may cause the leather to shrink.

After cleaning your leather item, it should be wiped dry using a cloth or left out flat to air dry. Never dry your leather in front of a direct heat source, this can damage the leather and can also cause the material to stiffen.

If you plan to be around wet conditions while wearing your Eternity leather item (such as the Leather O-ring Pendant), you should apply a light layer of a quality leather protectant to protect your item from water damage. Any protectant will need to be regularly re-applied to remain effective.

Storage

When leather items are not in use, make sure to store them out of direct sunlight and away from humidity or excessive heat.

Leather items like collars, wrist and ankle restraints, etc are best kept in a cool and dry place.

Do not keep your leather item stored in a plastic bag as it does need to breathe. A natural fiber bag or vented container is ideal.
