I bought this for myself as a gift for my 42nd birthday. My ankle measures 9 inches and I ordered X-Large. It fits me loosely, but my heel keeps it from slipping off. It only weighs in at 9.6 g on my scale and I can easily forget that I'm wearing it if I'm not looking at it. I would recommend ordering a size up if you're not sure about sizing, because your heel will still keep it in place securely even if it's loose. Tugging forcefully at this anlet with bare hands won't get it to open, but a pair of small bolt cutters will probably make short work of it. Good for people who like the allure of semi-permanent jewelry.
